The center with exhibits on natural history and botany is set up with children in mind. Children of all ages will enjoy the hands-on view of nature. Kids can unearth “dinosaur skeletons” from a sand pit and see dinosaur tracks, which are estimated to be 99 million years old. Open Tuesday through Saturday, 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Admission is free.

Mt. Bonnell at 3800 Mt. Bonnell Road to see Austin from one of the highest vantage points. It is known as a popular spot for young couples who want to watch the stars come out at night. Be careful who you climb the stairs with--you might fall in love according to the local legend.

LCRA has 3 Recreation Areas that offer Hiking Trails.
Grelle has a 2 mile hiking trail.

There are also several State Parks within a 30 to 45 minute drive from Spicewood that offer Hiking.
